The Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, has presented the Democracy Cup trophy to the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), on behalf of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin. The presentation formed part of the trophy tour of key state institutions and was aimed at strengthening collaboration between Parliament and the NCCE while promoting national unity and democratic values through sports. Mr. Djietror also formally invited the NCCE Chairperson,Kathleen Addy,to witness the much-anticipated match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, August 28, 2026. Ms. Addy pledged the NCCE’s support for the initiative, including creating awareness and encouraging citizens to embrace the objectives of the match. She commended Parliament for the gesture, noting that the presentation of the trophy demonstrated Parliament’s respect and appreciation for the NCCE’s role in promoting civic education and democracy.
