Speaker Donates To Ghana National Fire Service, Nadowli Kaleo Students Union and Sombo SHS.

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon.Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has demonstrated a strong commitment to national development and community support by mobilizing one hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢100,000.00) from his personal resources to assist in the completion of a fence project for the Ghana National Fire Service. The gesture, which also extended support to the Nadowli Kaleo Students Union and Sombo Senior High School, reflects his dedication to causes that promote safety, education, and youth empowerment.

In his remarks, he expressed deep appreciation for what he described as a rare opportunity to contribute to these three noble causes that are particularly dear to his heart.

He emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety, security, and the protection of lives and property, urging Ghanaians not to overlook the critical role played by emergency services. According to him, the Ghana National Fire Service remains one institution that the nation cannot afford to treat with indifference. He reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to supporting policies and legislative measures aimed at retooling and equipping the Service to enhance its operational efficiency.

Commending the regional leadership of the Service for their initiative and proactive efforts in mobilizing resources, he expressed confidence that the completion of the fence wall would significantly improve the security of the Regional Headquarters.

In addition, he donated items worth a total value of over seventy thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢70,000.00) to the Sombo SHS’s home economics department, and the school’s administration to support their activities and ten thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢10,000.00) to the Nadowli Kaleo Students Union (NADSU).

He concluded by urging individuals, corporate organizations, and other stakeholders to invest in the development of young people, particularly students, to help them realize their full potential. He further called on philanthropists to support the Ghana National Fire Service, stressing that its work is essential to the safety and well-being of all citizens.
