
Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu- Adjare has disclosed that Government has drafted the Ghana Automotive Component Manufacturing Development Policy to attract investments from Component Manufacturers to feed into the local automotive industry.
According to the Minister the Automotive Component Manufacturing Industry has been identified as a strategic sector for stimulating multiplier effects in terms of industrial transformation, powerful driver of employment, foreign investment innovation and economic growth contributing directly and indirectly to GDP.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare made this known on the floor of the House when she was answering questions on the status of the Vehicle Component Manufacturing Policy.
“The fundamental principle underlying the Policy is that the private sector is the engine of future growth, with Government providing an enabling environment designed for automotive component manufacturing to thrive over the long term” she stated.
