THIRTY SIX THOUSAND TEACHERS TO BE EMPLOYED

The Ministry of Education has received clearance to replace, recruit, re-appoint and re-instate thirty six thousand teachers. This was in answer to a question posed by the Member of Parliament for Akatsi North. Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe. Hon. Nortsu-Kotoe wanted to know when the Ministry will employ the twenty-thousand teaching and non-teaching personnel approved by the Ministry of Finance in 2016 to fill numerous vacancies in first and second cycle institution.
The Minister explained that, fourteen thousand teachers who were added to the current twenty two thousand eight hundred and two who are going through the employment process by the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service.
This process according to the Minister should have been completed by 31st December, 2017 but due to delay of financial clearance, the process will continue to 31st March, 2018.
