The Committee on Gender, Children, and Social Welfare is composed of a Chairperson, a Ranking Member, a Vice Chairperson, a Deputy Ranking Member, and no more than thirteen additional Members. The Committee is responsible for examining matters related to gender, children, and social welfare; ensuring that the concerns of men, women, children, and vulnerable groups, as well as their social welfare issues, are integrated into relevant legislation; considering proposals to advance affirmative action initiatives and reporting findings to the House; and having the authority to investigate and inquire into the activities and administration of ministries, departments, and agencies under its mandate, including the examination of legislative proposals.
