The Committee on Petitions, consisting of a Chairperson, Ranking Member, Vice Chairperson, Deputy Ranking Member, and no more than thirteen other Members, is responsible for investigating and reporting to the House on matters referred to it under Order 99. Its jurisdiction extends to investigating and inquiring into activities and administration related to its terms of reference, including the power to extend investigations to proposals for legislation.
